Sadie

Sadie arrived on Monday 8th October 2018.
Went to her new home on Saturday 22nd June 2019.

Sadie is a white and black greyhound
RACING NAME: KLOPPS WEE SADIO
EARMARK: YAV6
DATE OF BIRTH: 01/12/2016
COLOUR: WHITE & BLACK
WEIGHT: 30.6 kg.
INOCULATED:
Sadie is a very pretty white and black greyhound who has never raced because she was too nervous to school.
She lived first of all with us here at the Branch, then a week before Christmas she went to live with fosterers Claire, Hugh and their 3 greyhounds until she found a home of her own.  Sadie is a delightful girl who is house trained, spayed, inoculated, microchipped.  She has come along way since arriving at the branch from being so scared she would curl up in the back of her crate refusing to come out, even for food to the one she is now.  She's super in the house and has a character that makes you chuckle as she will smile at you, wag her tail,
lick your hand, peep round  corners and even play crouching down witht you.  She's a lovely girl but needs time to settle with someone new especially men.  Outside she is still very wary of strangers and still feels insecure with new environments, but this doesn't stop Claire and Hugh taking her places with the others.
Whoever adopts Sadie must give her time to get to know them, not to expect too much from her at the beginning, preferably have another dog she can bond with and have a very secure back garden because if she panics she may jump!

Sadie's Diary
8th October 2018
Sadie is a very pretty white and black greyhound who has never raced because she is a very nervous dog who needs a great deal of time to get to know people. She's a smiler and will lick your hand, and she loves to play.
Whilst she was being spayed the vet noticed a hernia so that was repaired at the same time. She is house trained, inoculated and microchipped.
She knows her name and will run around in circles if she's frightened looking for somewhere to escape to, but once she realises your garden and home is safe things get better.
For the first few days, apart from feeding and toileting we've left her much to herself in her crate, which has the door open so she can come out if she wishes to see what is going on. She soon realised she was missing out when the others got treats and cuddles and each day is seeing her become more confident around us. She is wagging her tail a lot and she's a smiler!
Whoever adopts Sadie must give her time to get to know them, not to expect too much from her at the beginning, preferably have another dog she can bond with and have a very secure back garden because when she panics she can jump!
11th October 2019
This morning Sadie went to the vets where she was spayed and had her first inoculation because she arrived without proof they were up to date.  While operating they found a hernia so they repaired that as well before stitching her up. We collected her later in the afternoon and brought her home where she slept in her crate in the living room in peace.
22nd June 2019
The perfect home has been found for Sadie, or I should say they found her!  She will be living only a short drive from Claire and Hugh who were fostering her,  living in the countryside with a young male collie as her companion.  The location is perfect.  Her new owners know how to handle nervous dogs and when they go away Sadie, rather than going somewhere she doesn't know will either come and stay with Claire and Hugh or us. Things couldnt have worked out better for her and we hope she has a long and happy life with her new family.
