Sadie is a white and black greyhound
SADIE
SADIE

Sadie is a very pretty white and black greyhound who was born on the 1st December 2016.  She has never raced because she was too nervous to school.
She's currently living with Claire, Hugh and their 3 greyhounds until she finds a home of her own.  Sadie is a delightful girl who is house trained, spayed, inoculated, microchipped.  She has come along way since arriving at the branch from being so scared she would curl up in the back of her crate refusing to come out, even for food to the one she is now.  She's super in the house and has a character that makes you chuckle as she will smile at you, wag her tail, lick your hand, peep round corners and even play crouching down witht you.  She's a lovely girl but needs time to settle with someone new especially men.  Outside she is still very wary of strangers and still feels insecure with new environments, but this doesn't stop Claire and Hugh taking her places with the others.
Whoever adopts Sadie must give her time to get to know them, not to expect too much from her at the beginning, preferably have another dog she can bond with and have a very secure back garden because if she panics she may jump!

King is a lovely black ex-racing greyhound
KING
KING

King had been with us a while looking for a new home, but because of one thing and another he is now back with his previous owner/trainer living in his home until we can find King a very special home of his own.
The home King needs is with an experienced greyhound owner, one where he will be an only dog who can be given lots of love and affection, one where there is a garden for him to sit and run around in, and one where there are no young children or the grandchildren rarely visit. Having said all this though, we have since discovered there was a male greyhound living in the foster home where King was staying and where many of the issues arose.  The male greyhound we have since discovered did NOT want another male in the house and this could be why King was behaving the way he was, which was out of character and none of which we experienced here.
King's puppyhood and early years had been awful and he would have died had his current owner/trainer not been told of his plight and saved his life by purchasing him.  He took King into his home where he brought him back to good health with a
lot of TLC, and to thank him King won many races for him.  In view of King's past and present circumstances I didn't have the heart to send him to another Greyhound Trust branch where he may remain the rest of his life, so I spoke to his previous owner/trainer who agreed to have him back.  He loves King dearly and doesn't want to see any harm come to him, so he will live with him in his home until we find King a special home of his own, and if that doesn't come along he will keep King forever.

BO
BO

Bo (Utopia Becky) is 9 years old and weighs 21kg.
She is house trained, spayed, inoculated, microchipped and had a dental last September when she had her booster inoculation.
Bo came to us following a decline in her owner's health that meant her not being able to look after Bo so she came here for us to find her a new home.
A medical at our vets shows her to be fit and well and although the teeth she has are a little dirty the vet said they should come okay with chews and teeth cleaning.
Bo is a very gentle and quiet girl who just wants loving, but if another young or bouncy dog crosses her path she will certainly put it in it's place and tell it to behave and respect the elders. Bo walks beautifully on the lead and travels well in a car.

Lucy is a blue Greyhound
LUCY
LUCY

Lucy (Clonleigh Lucy) is a 26kg blue greyhound who was born on the 17th December 2017.  She is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped.
Lucy was only part way through her puppy schooling in Ireland and came here because they found her difficult to settle in the trap before a race and to catch once the race had finished.  She was popped on the ferry and brought straight here where we are teaching her how to live in a home with other dogs and become a pet with no need to be anxious of anything.
She can be shy of people she doesn't know and even cower in a corner, but with love, affection and a gentle assertive leader she comes out of her shell and becomes very loving and playful, loves her toys!  At first when we took her by the collar she would attempt to nip us, but this was just a tiny puppy nip and a cuddle would reassure her we mean't no harm.  When going for a walk once you get her out the front door and away from the house she knows, she walks lovely on the lead, but can be a little jumpy at the moment with strange noises. She travels well in a car and at the moment we feel she is best suited to a home with another dog.  Not in a town where there is a lot going on, which can be too much for her to take in.  Lucy has come along way since the day she arrived, but we are expecting her to go back a step or two until she gets to know her new owner.
